Since joining the practice in August 2001 as a Receptionist, Laura has made a considerable contribution to the development of the practice we work in today. As a core member of the team, Laura is committed to providing a quality service to our patients and has responsibility for Business Continuity. She holds a Level Three Certificate in First Line management. Laura lives locally with her family and when not working, she enjoys travel, music and socialising with friends.
Our cheerful and friendly Reception Staff work as a team and are the public “face” of our practice and are here to help you communicate with us.
They will often need to ask you further details when you telephone. This is to ensure that we assist you as effectively as possible. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses. They are fully trained in all aspects of their duties and work under the instructions of the Partners and the practice manager.
They are involved in registration of new patients, making of GP and nurse appointments, handling telephone enquiries, preparation of surgeries, taking Home Visit requests, changes of addresses/telephone numbers, looking after clinic recall systems and scanning of patient related correspondence, secretarial and administrative duties.
They are a very busy group of people who do a difficult job well.
All staff adhere to the Practice’s Confidentiality Policy and Data Protection Act 2018.
